Taylor McGoff
Instructor
I have been dancing for over 20 years, beginning my training at Ballet Arts
Centre in Winchester, where I developed a strong foundation in classical ballet
and other dance forms. Throughout my training, I had the opportunity to study
with the American Ballet Theatre (New York and Tampa), Joffrey Ballet, and
Boston Ballet through intensive summer programs.
I graduated from The Ohio State University in 2025 with a BFA in Dance and a
minor in Integrated Health and Wellness. During my senior year, I served as
Senior Class President, an experience that I believe strengthened qualities I
carry into both the studio and everyday life. I strongly believe that the discipline,
resilience, and self-awareness developed through dance extend far beyond
performance.
My senior thesis explored the impact of rigorous ballet training during early dance
development, examining both the advantages and challenges of intensive ballet
study and how ballet influences movement quality across other dance styles.
This research continues to inform my teaching philosophy, emphasizing healthy
technique, adaptability, and confidence in movement.
After years of training, performing, and choreographing, my goal as a teacher is
to bring joy, curiosity, and passion into the ballet classroom while highlighting how
ballet can build valuable life skills. While ballet was my first love and remains a
strong foundation in my work, I enjoy exploring and integrating multiple dance
styles into my own training and encourage dancers to do the same.
In addition to my dance background, I am Peak Pilates Certified and currently
work as a Pilates personal trainer. I believe strength training and core work are
essential components of dance education, and I prioritize injury prevention and
corrective exercises within my teaching to support long-term, sustainable
movement.
